The Solfeggio frequencies are specific tones known since ancient times to benefit the mind and body in specific ways. They have been used in religious ceremonies and rituals from ancient India to Medieval Europe. In modern times, researchers have just begun to unravel the mystery behind these frequencies, including 528 Hz, a tone for healing and emotional release. This frequency has gained attention as a potent healing frequency that

You may think, "how can one sound make that much difference?" We get it, but think about how you feel when you listen to your favorite song. It's not a new concept to believe that music changes the way we feel. Researchers have found that the frequency of 528 Hz specifically has the power to reduce stress and anxiety. In ancient cultures, it was even used to manifest miracles. Want to know more about how you can use this frequency for healing? Keep reading.

What are the Solfeggio Frequencies?

The modern world is finally catching up to the powerful frequencies that ancient cultures have been using for years (396, 417, 432, 528, 639, 741, and 852 Hertz) for years. Solfeggio frequencies are specific tones used across cultures to promote mind and body health, help people heal, and alter consciousness. Some people believe that they can raise your vibrations and reduce negativity. These frequencies have been used internationally, from ancient Egypt to Western Christianity and Eastern Indian religions. During Medieval times, Gregorian chants used the frequencies as part of a spiritual experience.

Thanks to the research done in the 1970s by physician and researcher Dr. Joseph Puleo, Solfeggio frequencies came back into the spotlight. Using mathematical calculations, Puleo identified six electromagnetic sound frequencies. All six frequencies are thought to raise vibrations to help heal and manifest abundance. Here is a breakdown of the six tones.

  • 396 Frequency Hz (UT) - grounding and cleansing, helpful for people experiencing grief, fear, and guilt
  • 417 Hz Frequency (RE) - clears negativity and helps facilitate positive change.
  • 528 Hz Frequency (MI) - helps to increase awareness; it's also known as the "love frequency."
  • 639 Hz Frequency (FA) - increases understanding, harmony, and empathy, helpful for strengthening relationships.
  • 741 Hz Frequency (SOL) - detoxifying frequency, also may help with problem-solving.
  • 852 Hz Frequency(LA) - helps awaken intuition.

People continue to use Solfeggio frequencies for spiritual, mental, and physical healing. Some of these tones slow heart rate, reduce stress, relieve anxiety, enhance creativity, and more. Some people believe that because of the promising results of scientific studies (covered below), Solfeggio frequencies could be used to help treat PTSD and anxiety.

Solfeggio frequencies 528 Hz

Now that you know a little more about the Solfeggio frequencies, it's time to dive into the solfeggio frequencies 528 Hz. You may have heard of Solfeggio frequency 528 Hz as the love frequency or miracle frequency. This famous frequency is thought to bring transformation, an increase in energy, awareness, creativity, and inner peace. It's also been suggested that 528 Hz is deep-rooted in nature and can be found in oxygen, rainbows, grass, and the buzzing of bees, making it a powerful tool to connect with the world around us. And though it may seem "out there" to think that all these benefits can come from a sound, science speaks for itself.

A study from Japan found that five minutes of listening to this frequency reduces endocrine and autonomic nervous system stress. Stress markers in the participants’ saliva were considerably less compared to controls. This study found participants had reduced tension-anxiety and total mood disturbance scores when they listened to 528 Hz music (a change they did not find after those same participants listened to 440 Hz music).

The 528 Hz frequency also seems to be good for the body at the cellular level.A study found that it could prolong cell life by about 20% in specimens treated with ethanol. Because cells saw a reduction of the toxic effects of ethanol with the use of 528 Hz sound waves, it's possible that this type of solfeggio frequency could have healing properties. The researchers noted this in their study, "it appears that the sound wave at 528 Hz frequency which is sometimes referred to as miracle tone, could provide tranquillity and a source for relieve of stress."

Dr. Glen Rein's groundbreaking research in 1988 also proved that music could have real impacts on human DNA. Rein exposed DNA vials to four kinds of music with different frequencies: Gregorian chants, Sanskrit chants, classical, and rock. He then measured the rate of UV light absorption (a function of healthy DNA) for each DNA vial to see the music's effects. The two types of music that had the most positive effects on the DNA? The Gregorian and Sanskrit chants, both of which use Solfeggio frequencies.

Another study that utilized rat subjects found that the 528 Hz frequency increases testosterone production in the brain. The animals also exhibited reduced anxiety after listening.

Fun fact: the song Imagine by John Lennon was composed in 528 Hz.

How to use 528 Hz for the Mind and Body

Turn to this Solfeggio frequency if you feel stressed or anxious. The evidence is clear that it produces physical effects in the body that reduce these two emotions. Use it at the end of a difficult day, during a break in a tough and stressful situation, or before bed if worries are keeping you awake. The best part about this frequency is that you can use it anytime, anywhere. For a more meditative experience, you may want to find a quiet, calm space you can listen to the frequency with no distractions. Try using headphones when listening to 528 Hz for maximum benefits.

This frequency is also one of physical healing and might even impact the longevity of cells. If you’re feeling physically unwell in any way, 528 Hz could support healing and wellness to help you feel better (however, you should still always consult with your doctor).

People who use the Solfeggio frequencies also believe that this tone will help bring you into better balance with the universe. Helping you feel more connected to everything around you and increasing your positive energy. Some call it the miracle tone and believe it promotes miraculous events. Of course, there is no evidence of this, but it can’t hurt to try!

The BetterSleep app includes all the major Solfeggio frequencies (including waves for healing, anxiety, positivity, energy cleansing, and more). which you can use alone or as part of a custom mix. Tune into 528 Hz to help you unwind for sleep, relieve or cope with stress, and cement positive intentions and energy in your life and throughout the universe.
